The state urban development department has made an exception to a rule regarding high-rise buildings. Normally, a building over 90 metres tall must have two staircases. However, the department has allowed the CEO of the Slum Rehabilitation Authority to bypass this rule for certain unfinished buildings.
These buildings are part of the Slum Rehabilitation Authority's projects and exceed 70 metres in height. The exception applies to buildings that are still under construction.
