Three cities in Madhya Pradesh have ranked among the top 5 clean air cities in the country. Indore secured the 2nd position, Jabalpur the 3rd, and Bhopal the 4th. The rankings were determined by the National Clean Air Survey 2026, also known as Swachh Vayu Sarvekshan 2026. Bhopal's score improved to 192 points, up from 191 points last year.

The survey results were recognized at an awards ceremony, where the Chairman of the National Green Tribunal and the Secretary to the Environment, Forest and Climate Change Ministry presented awards to selected cities. Further details about the survey and its findings are available.

The air quality in these cities remains above national pollution limits, despite their high rankings.
