This officer, Sachin Waze, allegedly planted an SUV to project himself as a skilled investigator. The agency also alleges that Waze was involved in the death of a businessman who had possession of the SUV, as he feared the man could expose the conspiracy.

A court has extended its stay on Waze's bail, which was granted by a special court. The NIA is challenging this decision.
