Action has been taken against ambulances found to be violating rules. Fines totaling more than Rs 79,000 have been imposed. The inspections, which took place between January and August, checked a total of 427 ambulances.

A significant number of these vehicles, 82, were found to have broken rules. The Transport Department conducts periodic inspections of registered ambulances.
