A total of 867 arrests were made and contraband was confiscated as part of a crackdown on prohibited food articles. This effort also resulted in the seizure of food stock valued at Rs 67.20 crore.

Inspections were conducted at a large number of establishments, totaling 9,485, that handle various food items.

The value of seized dairy products alone reached Rs 5.4 crore, and 404 licenses were suspended during this period, as part of a three-month enforcement drive by the state's food and drug regulatory agency.
