Electricity export has been approved to help a neighbouring country meet its power needs. The approval is for a limited time, from mid-September to the end of the year. Recent floods damaged hydropower infrastructure, leading to a shortage.
The export will be limited to 18 hours daily. Two transmission lines will be used for the export.
Further details about the export, including the amount of power that can be transmitted through each line, are available from the Ministry of Power.
