A proposal has been made to delete a reservation for a fire station in order to use the land for residential purposes. Residents currently rely on distant fire stations, which could be hindered by traffic congestion. The distance to these stations, such as Irla and Goregaon, may already pose a challenge, and traffic could further slow the response time of fire services.
The land in question is also reserved for a municipal police chowky. The proposal to open up this land for residential use has been put forth by the BMC.
